| This
site is a travel advisory to anyone thinking of staying at the Holiday
Inn Midtown New York on 57th Street.
My fiancé and I were put in a room infested with bed bugs. After just 4 hours in the bed, we woke-up with bugs crawling all over us. We sustained over 80 bites between the two of us. It took 3 weeks for the bites to disappear completely and during this time we were constantly itchy from the bites and drowsy as a result of medication that we were taking to stop the itching and swelling of the bites. This experience ruined the rest of our 3 week vacation. The hotel gave us the stay on the house, but I ended-up paying $667 for the emergency room and medication, and not to mention the money that was spent on having a terrible holiday as a result of this experience. |

| It is amazing that the Hotel and its management take no responsibility for this incident at all. This hotel clearly has no pest control measures in place and in a e-mail to me, they said that they know that bed bugs can be brought into the hotel by travelers and their suitcases. So, if you are unlucky enough to be put in a room that was previously occupied by a traveler that had bed bugs in his/her suitcase, then the chance is great of having the same experience as us. | |||
